WHAT’S HAPPENING IN DUPAX DEL NORTE?

Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya is standing its ground. Residents and advocates continue a people’s anti-mining barricade against the entry of UK-based Woggle Corporation’s gold and copper exploration project. Reports say the barricade was forcibly demolished on January 23 after a massive police deployment, leading to the arrest of seven land defenders, who have now been released through the strength of the people’s movement and collective action.

We condemn the Marcos Jr. government – a top bureaucrat capitalist regime – and mercenary military and police forces being used to clear the way for foreign corporations to enter communities’ lands. Cancel Woggle’s permits. Stop the operation. Defend land, livelihood, and people’s rights.
