The Philippine Network for Human Rights, South Korea, joins the National Day of Mourning and Rage in demanding justice for the 19 victims of the massacre carried out by the mercenary 79th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army in Brgy. Salamanca, Toboso, Negros Occidental.

Among the victims were Alyssa Alano, a student leader from UP Diliman; RJ Ledesma, a community journalist; Maureen Keil Santuyo, a peasant organizer; Errol Wendel, a cultural worker and peasant organizer; Lyle Prijole, a Filipino-American human rights advocate; Kai Sorem, a Filipino-American youth activist and cultural worker; and Roel Sabillio, a farmer.

We join the international community in demanding that the Marcos Jr. administration and the Armed Forces of the Philippines be held accountable for these grave human rights violations. By disregarding international humanitarian law and attacking civilian communities, the regime exposes its brutality and turns civilians into targets of state violence.

We call for justice for the Negros 19, accountability for the perpetrators, and an end to the militarization and state terror inflicted upon the Filipino people.
